The Seller agrees to execute and deliver to the Buyer any and all additional documents, instruments, or certificates as may be reasonably necessary or appropriate to evidence or effectuate the transfer of title to the Property.

As a Maryland shop owner, a standard receipt isn't enough to mitigate faulty repair liability or warranty disputes. Whether you are selling a shop vehicle, salvaged components, or a mechanic's lien vehicle under Md. Code Ann., Comm. Law § 16-101, you need a document that establishes a hard stop on liability. Our Maryland-specific Bill of Sale ensures compliance with the MD Consumer Protection Act and specific state Statute of Frauds requirements (Md. Code Com. Law § 2-201), protecting your ASE-certified reputation from claims of consumer fraud or misunderstood labor rate applications.
Beyond the standard bill of sale sections, this template adds fields specific to Auto Repair Shop Owner:
A Bill of Sale serves the core legal purpose of providing proof of the transfer of ownership of an item from the seller to the buyer. It formalizes the transaction and fulfills the legal need for documentation of the sale, aiding in preventing disputes over ownership and clarifying the terms and conditions agreed upon by the parties involved.
Warranty Disputes
Clear terms of warranty services and exclusions expressly written into service agreements.
Under Md. Code Com. Law § 2-201, any sale of automotive goods over $500 must be in writing. This Bill of Sale fulfills that legal requirement, ensuring your transaction is enforceable in Maryland courts should a payment dispute or a claim of non-delivery arise.
Yes. While the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act governs federal warranty standards, our document allows you to include 'As-Is' disclaimers (Warranties and Disclaimers clause) to limit your exposure to future claims regarding the vehicle's mechanical condition at the time of transfer.
Maryland has unique personal property lien laws under Md. Code Ann., Comm. Law § 16-101. When using this Bill of Sale for a lien sale, it is critical to document the Seller's Representations to confirm you have the legal right to transfer the title following a statutory lien process.
While it documents the transfer, shop owners must still comply with RCRA and the Clean Air Act for waste disposal. This Bill of Sale includes a Buyer’s Acknowledgment of the item's condition, which helps document the transfer of responsibility for any hazardous materials, like batteries or solvents, contained within the sold property.
